Minimum/General Experience: This position requires minimum 12 years experience in Information Technology with 7 years specialized including demonstrated experience using state-of-the-art DBMS technologies, applications design utilizing various DBMS including but not limited to Oracle, Sybase, Access and experience with DBMS internals. General experience includes increasing responsibilities in DBMS systems analysis and programming. Demonstrated ability to work independently or under only general direction. Functional Responsibility: Provides highly technical expertise in the use of DBMS. Performs backup, fine-tuning and upgrades to DBMS. Evaluates and recommends available DBMS products to support validated user requirements. Defines file organization, indexing methods and security procedures for specific user applications. Minimum Education: A BS degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, or related discipline. With a MS degree, 10 years general experience in Information Technology, of which 7 are specialized in Database Management is required. With 12 years general experience in Information Technology and 8 specialized in Database Management, a degree is not required.
